What started as a conversation …

“I love our writing chats so much.” ❤️

For years, we’ve been talking about writing. Those chats inspired us. We didn’t feel so alone in our craft. We felt heard. We knew someone understood. When we wrote by ourselves, it got lonely. It was easy to get stuck and lose motivation.

But when we kept each other accountable, things changed. We encouraged each other to try new techniques, learn about our characters, and do all the outlining that it took to develop our stories. We wrote poetry together. We dreamed up scripts. We shared character profiles. We learned about editing, structure, and simplicity. We took workshops, discussed writing over long Skype calls, and sent late-night texts.

Together, we became better writers.

How did we get here? As teenagers, we swapped books and wrote fiction. Years later, we still do it. We are both published writers and avid readers. We love traveling, experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, and making friends along the way.

We’re suckers for classic lit. Fantasy. YA. Dystopian. Historical Romance. Middle Grade. These are some of our favorite genres.

Because we love discussing our favorite reads, we want to bring others along on the journey. Friend & Pen is our community, a space to help us find inspiration and encouragement as we write our first novels. We hope it becomes that place for you too!
