Four Quick Anytime Reads
During November & December, I often feel like I turn into what can be summarized as “A Gal on the Go”! But if you’re anything like me, you still want to sneak in a few quick reads between the holiday errands, get-togethers, and commitments. I’m going to share some short book recommendations so you can easily meet your yearly reading goal AND be encouraged while doing so!
Confession: I’m basically just talking to myself now because your girl is three books behind schedule…
Storyteller
Hope actually gave me this lovely collection of 100 poems. Written by Morgan Harper Nichols, this is the perfect thing to satisfy your reading fix. You can read one poem (or all!), and you’ll walk away inspired with a little extra dose of beauty for your day. I’m also obsessed with the cover. The vibrant yellow, the female prominently featured, and the words swirling around her like the thoughts and ideas are finding life in her brain? Perfection.
The Little Prince
Not all classics are super thick novels! Hope and I adore this lovely book. It’s charming, delightful, and reminds me of a fairy tale. If you only have a little extra time to spare, why not read something uplifting? This book is just that.
The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse
I purchased this gorgeous book a while back for my own library because The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse is worth owning. I truly believe that everyone should read this powerful book. It may make you cry but in the best way possible. If you need a reminder that you are loved and that you matter, pick up this book today or any day. This is a special one worth reading and sharing.
Big Panda and Tiny Dragon
Aren’t you already intrigued by the title? In this book, Panda and Dragon talk about life as they experience each season of the year. This book has many parallels to The Boy, The Moles, The Fox and The Horse, such as gorgeous illustrations that accompany the deep conversations between friends. Big Panda and Tiny Dragon wonderfully provides life insight and wisdom to readers through a meaningful and memorable literary experience.
Well, Friends, I think I'm actually going to sign off now and go read The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse myself! It’s easy for each and every one of us to get swept up in busyness, but I hope you find time to take a breath, relax for a while, and enjoy a special read. For now, I’ll leave you with this beautiful reminder from The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse:
“Always remember you matter, you’re important and you are loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can.”
Your friend with a pen,
