Three Reads That’ll Give You Wanderlust
Okay, I realize it’s February and we are all enduring that winter grind, so I’m guessing I’m not the only one longing for warmer days and some fun travel plans. If you find yourself wishing for a new destination or a future adventure to get here already, I’ll give you a few titles that’ll stir up wanderlust in your winter days.
The title of this book perfectly captures the hilarious heart of Gerald Durrell’s novel! Based on a true story, Durrell writes about his family living on the Grecian island of Corfu. This is the first book in a trilogy, but it’ll make you wish you could be swept off with this British family to experience their quirks and fiascos firsthand. Plus, there are so many different kinds of animals mentioned in this novel you’ll feel like you’re visiting the most exotic zoo as you read! My Family And Other Animals is a delightful novel that left me wanting more interactions with the Durrell family and my own place on Corfu.
Both Hope and I have traveled to Iceland and could gush about it for days. We have so many adventures to share…maybe we will recount some in the future for y’all! But for now, here’s a lovely travel guide that incorporates gorgeous photography about this incredible country. Iceland is definitely a place to add to your future destinations list!
Now hear me out…I know you might be thinking right now, “Why the heck did Kaitlyn include a fantasy read on this list?!” My defense? One, I’d put a fantasy book in every blog post if y’all would let me. And two…this book makes me feel so much longing for travel! The story follows a character named Sophie who, after being transformed into an old woman, goes on a magical adventure in a moving castle! After reading the novel, you simply have to check out the gorgeous film adaptation of this!! Christian Bale voices the character Howl, so you’ll have to listen out for him using his iconic Batman voice in the film.
So, where should Hope and I travel to next? What’s on the top of your travel wishlist? Give us all the great suggestions, and know that can’t wait to travel and chat with you guys at future events!

Kaitlyn
